Trilliums

To end out my shots taken in May, I have to post a few more shots of trilliums.

Halifax

My time with Deb & Joe ended with them dropping me at a downtown Halifax hotel in pouring rain.  Over the next five days, I sat in meeting rooms or meandered around old Halifax.  I got to know the waterfront and some of the absolutely fantastic restaurants they have.  What trip to Halifax would be complete without a tour of the the Citadel?  Not photographed was a tour of Pier 21, where thousands of immigrants started their new lives in Canada.

The first few shots are of reflections in the water down at the harbour.

Nova Scotia

In May, I had a great opportunity to visit my cousin Debra and her husband Joe.  They gave a roof and a bed but better than that they showed me around.  In two days, they took me to see the Coast Guard ship Hudson, Lunenburg, Peggy's Cove and much more.  The icing was to get to know Deb and Joe and what makes them tick.
I left Ontario with it's 30 degree sunshine and entered Nova Scotia's 15 degree fog and rain.  Here are some of the shots from outside of Halifax.  Sometimes sunny weather is overrated.

Cottage Opening 2016

What's a visit to Muskoka in May without some trilliums?  The last shot...well I just liked the light.

Canadian Raptor Conservancy

In May, I had the chance to go back to the place where I set a personal best.  Three years prior, I shot more than 1500 images in about 3 hours.  I don't remember the image count this year as I deleted so many bad shots before I thought about it.  Needless to say I did take a lot again.  Here is only 12.

Anti Bullying

In early May some friends and I had an idea to do a themed shoot. We had some young teenage girls act as bullies to this older guy.  They all were able to relate to the subject.  Couldn't resist the last shot as she looked so good with the late evening light.  Cudos to all the models... the temperature was so cold that all the photogs were wearing gloves.

Corner's Corner

A short drive from home can take you to Peter Corner's Corner.

A great place.  Walking trails and ponds.

Again, an April shoot.

Canadale

An early visit to Canadale Garden Centre in April gave me some great sunrays.

Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory

Way back in March I was at this wonderful hot house (at the end of winter).  Getting there early gives one the opportunity to see the butterflies wake up.  Oh ya, there's some birds too.
